In Demystifying Flash Photography, Spyros will teach you just how easy it can be to use flash and add light to your photos. This class will teach you the ins and outs of flash photography and just how fun it can be!
Some of what you will learn includes:
How your flash works, and more importantly, how your flash and camera work together.
How to pre-visualize your photos so you can make lighting decisions for taking successful photos and portraits.
How to use flash both on and off the camera, and the advantages and disadvantages of the different ways to use your flash.
Classic portrait lighting setups and how to achieve them with your equipment.
This class assumes knowledge of Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO, and how to use your camera in manual mode. Photographers without a strong understanding of these functions should first sign up for Taking Control of Your Camera on April 20th.
Photographers taking this class should have a camera with a hotshoe. If you have a flash and/or flash equipment, bring it along with you, but, DO NOT GO OUT AND PURCHASE A FLASH FOR THIS WORKSHOP. There will be flash equipment for you to use during the workshop, and if you are looking to buy, Spyros can help you make a more informed decision so you get the most for your money.
Spyros Heniadis is a professional photographer with over 20 years of experience, and has been teaching photography to others around the world for the last 15 years. Hundreds of people have attended his workshops over the years. He has over 100,000 subscribers on YouTube, and his educational videos on YouTube have over 8 million views.
His diverse portfolio of work includes conceptual art, cosplay, boudoir, fashion, portraiture, fitness, and a love of building his own sets for photo shoots. Spyros was born in Madison, WI. and currently lives in Central Wisconsin with his wife of 21 years, and three of the sassiest cats (aren’t they all). He discovered his love for photography while working at a Half Price Books where he was in charge of the Art section. While shelving, he would pursue the books, and one day he came across the work of Bunny Yeager and her portraits of Bettie Page, and something clicked. He started out with nature photography because those subjects can be found anywhere, progressed to pet and child photography until finally he came full circle back to his original inspiration and has been shooting Conceptual Art Portraiture ever since.
He started doing reviews for camera gear on YouTube and it quickly transpired into teaching more in depth courses on how the camera works, lighting techniques, and more. Spyros has taught at WPPI in Las Vegas, Photo Plus Expo in New York, After Dark, ClickCon, University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, as well as many private classes.
