From the introduction to Elsie's World War II Scrapbook: Hundreds of Newspaper Snippings as Originally Published by the Marshfield News-Herald:

"Elsie's Scrapbook" is a collection of newspaper snippings taken from the pages of "The Marshfield News-Herald" by Mrs. Francis (Elsie) Plank Sr. during World War II.

During the war, Mrs. Plank had three sons who served their country in the infantry. At that time she became an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Plank remained active in the Auxiliary throughout her lifetime until her death in 1972.

Please note that the articles contained in this "Scrapbook" are not in chronological order and may in some cases by incomplete.
