Mambo Surfers Quintet

 

Thursday, June 20, 2024 - 7pm -- Mambo Surfers are a Milwaukee-based band performing all original music.  Over their 27 years, their musical influences have ranged from blues to polkas, punk to reggae, Indian ragas to Native American and Sufi chants.  They call their intricate, energizing music World Rhythm Jazz Rock.

Thursday, August 8, 2024 - 7pm -- David Rogers fuses classical, jazz, and world music into beautiful, expressive and virtuosic performances.  Termed “a prominent guitarist” by The New York Times, and praised by The Washington Post for his “astonishingly florid” improvisations.

The Nordic Fiddlers Bloc

 

Thursday, September 19, 2024 - 7pm -- The Nordic Fiddlers Bloc trio all hail from distinct Nordic countries or regions.  The fiddle playing powerhouse is made up of Kevin Henderson whose playing is rooted in the rich heritage of his native Shetland, Olav Luksengard Mjelva - an award winning fiddle player from Norway - and Anders Hall who is an acclaimed exponent of the Swedish fiddle tradition.  The trio combine three unique and distinctive fiddle styles to create an unparalleled sound as they expertly weave the varying components of their three musical cultures and traditions together in a hugely impressive and energetic performance.

Thursday, October 31, 2024 - 7pm -- The Henry Girls are a marvelous trio of sisters from Malin, Ireland:  Karen, Lorna and Joleen McLaughlin. They are great songwriters and have gorgeous three-part harmonies that come partly from the sisterhood bond that they share as well as their lengthy musical history.

Thursday, November 14, 2024 - 7pm -- AnnMarie Rowland has been writing and singing songs about quilts, the people who make them, and the ones who love them since 2013. What began as a scrap of an idea, has become much more.  Pieces of Time, a Musical Trunk Show combines her songs with approximately 50 collected vintage, antique, and family heritage quilts.
