McMillan Memorial Library is happy to provide a valuable learning resource to our community. Gale Courses deliver over 350 engaging, instructor-led online courses focused on professional development, technology skills, and personal enrichment to transform lives and foster positive changes in our community. These courses are free to our community because the library has purchased a community-wide subscription.

Taught by Professionals

Six-week courses are taught by college instructors and experts in the field, ensuring a high-quality, high-impact educational experience for all ages.

Gale Courses are tied to the Bureau of Labor Statistics fastest-growing occupations and include:

  • Courses to support business professionals, such as business law, human resources, management, manufacturing, and marketing

  • Computer and technology courses that suit skill levels from beginner to advanced

  • Courses in parenting, the arts, hobbies

  • A multitude of health and wellness offerings

McMillan subscribes to and pays for Gale Courses on the basis of our service population. To access it, you do not need to live in Wisconsin Rapids or Wood County, but you must have a LINK/McMillan library card and designate McMillan as your home library. Our staff can adjust your record if you are otherwise eligible.
