H.H. Bennett Obituary

From the Madison Democrat, January 3, 1908

Dells Photographer

Henry H. Bennett dies Thursday in Kilbourn at the age of 65 of Bright's disease. He had been in ill health for a number of years. For five weeks he was a patient of Dr. W.H. Moseley in this city in the latter's home, and two weeks ago was taken back to Kilbourn. Mr. Bennett was known as the Dells photographer. By his stereopic view he made the famous river region of the Wisconsin famous all over the country and did much to advertise the route of the St. Paul road. He was that company's official photographer for the scenery of the route. He was a member of Company E, Twelfth Wisconsin regiment, commanded by general George E. Bryant, of which Thomas B. Squires and H.W. Rood of this city were also members. Mr. Bennett's brother is postmaster at Kilbourn. His sister-in-law, Miss Evelyn Marshall, is a well known teacher, who has many friends in Madison.

The funeral will be held today in Kilbourn. H.W. Rood will attend.
