100 YEARS OF PICTORIAL & DESCRIPTIVE HISTORY OF WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WISCONSIN BY T.A. TAYLOR 1934

The Map Version

This is a map of the locations depicted in 100 Years of Pictorial & Descriptive History of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, commonly known as the Tom Taylor Books. Each location mapped includes a small version of the photo from the work with a link to a larger version. Many locations also include text from the Taylor Books describing what is depicted. Two hundred sites are included on the map, ranging in date from 1870 to the late 1930s.

The Tom Taylor books are available online. They are presented there as originally intended, as a Pictorial volume with photos and an Historical volume with text, with hundreds of cross references.

Note: Since many of the sites depicted no longer exist, some placements are not exact. We ask your indulgence as we work to improve and add to this map. We recommend that you use "Map" and not "Satellite," since they can vary by enough distance to cause confusion. You can use the map embedded on this page or view a larger map.  From there, you can also view the map in Google Earth.
