Join in the fun and bring the whole family for Science By The River in downtown Wisconsin Rapids! Part of the Wisconsin Science Festival – Curiosity Unleashed, the event will be held on Saturday October 23rd from 11AM-3PM. Walk or bike starting either at Ben Hansen Park or Veteran’s Memorial Park. Enjoy educational booths and hands-on demonstrations provided by partners George W. Mead State Wildlife Area, Sandhill Wildlife Area, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Wood County Parks and Forestry, McMillan Memorial Library and UW-Madison Wood County Extension. Explore family-friendly activities or relax and learn at a science-talk. Warming stations and refreshment opportunities will be stationed along the trail. “This is a brand-new event for the Wisconsin Rapids area,” noted UW-Madison Extension Natural Resource Educator for Wood County Rachael Whitehair. “The hope is that Science By The River continues to grow for years to come and encourages youth and community members to get excited about science and discovery.”
Approximate distance of the trail is two miles. Wood County River Riders Bike share program bikes will be available free of charge during the event.
