Banksy: Street Art
Join Rob and Kristen in the Fine Arts Center for a presentation on Street Art and the artist known as Banksy. After learning about his iconic art, we will move into the All Purpose Room and create our own Banksy art.
Summer Family Fun - Messy Painting (Outdoor Program)
Paint with wild abandon...OUTSIDE! Materials will be provided for participants to take part in creating some fun art in messy ways. Please be prepared to get messy! Wear clothing you don't mind getting full of paint (just in case). This program is dependent on the weather. If the weather is uncertain, please check the library's website, social media, or call to make sure it is still going to run.
Summer '23 Photo "I Love Books" Exhibit Deadline
We've extended the deadline for entries to our next photography exhibit until May 15. The theme for this show is "I love books!" so send us photos related to books and reading. Take a selfie with your favorite librarian or bookseller (ask permission first, of course). Photograph a still life of your favorite titles.
Outdoor Messy Craft Makers - Glitter Make Day
Partnering with Parks & Rec we are offering 3 different outdoor craft events featuring tools and materials too messy for indoor use. This is a free event and all materials and supplies are provided. Between the Stacks: An Adult Summer Book Club & Makerspace Event
Join Allie, Kristen & Rob in the Makerspace for a lively discussion on Jeff Nania's newest book, Musky Run! You'll also make and take a UV resin bookmark! Books will be available for participants at the Information Desk starting on 5/8 . Space is limited and registration is required.
Glass Etching
Join Rob and Kristen in the Makerspace and create your own etched glass mug or pint glass. We will be using the Silhouette Cameo to cut our stencils for etching. Keep in mind we will be using Armour Etch. Armour Etch is comprised of the hazardous chemicals: Barium Sulfate, Sulfuric Acid, Sodium Bifluoride, and Ammonium Bifluoride. All these chemicals are harmful to bare skin and can irritate or even burn it if not washed off immediately. Eye protection and gloves will be available.
