During the Winter Break from school, McMillan and 4-H are teaming up for a series of fun events for kids and families! We'll have activities at 10am from Wednesday, December 27th-Friday, December 29th.
On Wednesday, December 27th at 10am, come to the McMillan Library All Purpose Room to learn some kitchen science. This program is for kids 7-11. Register here.
We will be exploring the medium of oil pastels in art during this program. This program is for those aged 7-11.
Materials for designing and making a catapult will be available. You will be working in teams to make your catapults then you can put them through a series of challenges. Registration is not required for this program.
We will have a Family night showing of the Pixar animated film Elemental. Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental” is an all-new, original feature film set in Element City, where fire-, water-, land- and air residents live together. The story introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.
This movie is rated PG and has a runtime of 1 hour and 43 minutes.
We will be using the yarn resist technique to paint a birch trees on canvas board. This program is for those aged 7-11. Registration is required and will open on December 27th. REGISTER HERE.

McMillan is offering an adult, a teen and a children's reading program again this winter. Our adult and children's reading programs are different versions of book bingo -- stop in to pick up a bingo card and some books to get started (both the adult and children's programs run through 4/15).
In December, come to McMillan's gallery space on our lower level and enjoy Suzanne Galliford's multi-media artworks. Even more are on display in our case at the top of the stairs.
